Terms of Use
Short, readable terms for a journaling tool. By using Anchor you agree to what follows.
The service
Anchor is a guided journaling and general wellness tool operated by Noah Nothman. It offers reflective prompts, optional AI-written reflections, goal tracking and self-care resources.
Anchor is not healthcare
Anchor is not therapy, counselling, medical or psychiatric care, diagnosis, treatment or a crisis service. It does not create a clinician–patient relationship, and nothing it writes is professional advice. See the wellness and crisis disclaimer for what to do in an emergency.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are between 13 and 18, use Anchor with the knowledge of a parent or guardian.
Your account
- Keep your password private; you're responsible for activity under your account.
- Provide an email address you can actually receive mail at, so you can verify and recover your account.
- Don't try to access anyone else's journal, probe our systems, or use automated tools to scrape the service.
Your content
Your journal entries remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store, display and process them so the product works for you — including sending an answer to an AI provider when you ask for a reflection. We do not claim ownership and do not use your entries to train models on our behalf.
Free access
Anchor's core journaling experience is currently free. If paid features are introduced later, the free journaling and reflection experience described on this site will remain available, and any paid feature will be clearly labelled before you're asked for anything.
Availability and changes
Anchor is provided "as is" and "as available". Features may change, and occasional downtime or interruption can happen. We recommend exporting a copy of your journal from My data if it matters to you long term.
Limits of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Noah Nothman is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Anchor, and total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid to use Anchor — which, for free accounts, is zero.
Ending your use
You may delete your account and journal at any time from My data. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or attempt to harm other users.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
