Wellness and crisis disclaimer

Anchor is a reflective journaling tool for everyday wellbeing. It is not a substitute for professional care.

What Anchor is not

  • Not therapy, counselling or psychiatric treatment.
  • Not a diagnosis of any condition, and not medical advice.
  • Not a crisis service, and not monitored by a human in real time.

Nobody reads your entries as they arrive. If you write that you're in danger, Anchor can point you to resources — it cannot send help.

If you are in immediate danger

Call 911 (U.S.) for an emergency.

Call or text 988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24/7, free and confidential.

Text HOME to 741741 — Crisis Text Line.

Outside the U.S., search for your national crisis line, or go to your nearest emergency department.

You don't have to be in crisis to talk to someone

Warm lines are free, non-emergency phone lines staffed by trained peer supporters — people with their own lived experience of mental health struggles. You can call them on an ordinary hard evening, when nothing is wrong enough to justify a crisis line. More on the resources page.

Working with a professional

Journaling can sit alongside therapy nicely — some people bring entries to sessions. If you're already working with a clinician, follow their guidance over anything Anchor writes.
